Rhonda is a pro-life individual and unequivocally supports Texas’ pro-life laws. Rhonda also believes Texas can do more to support women who choose life through greater partnerships with verified crisis pregnancy centers and adoption programs. Rhonda will stand up for families, moms, and babies in the Texas Senate.

Texas and our country were founded on Judeo-Christian principles that are essential for a strong and safe society. Our churches are sacred places and must never be compromised or forced to close.  Our families and our children have the right to practice their religious beliefs without fear of retaliation. Rhonda will be a protector of our religious liberty.

Rhonda is a property tax expert. Rhonda holds both a certified real estate appraiser and a property tax consultant license. She is the owner and lead appraiser of East Texas Appraisal Services, a business she has owned for 22 years. Rhonda understands property taxes and can offer ways to provide our families with real property tax relief.  On Day One, Rhonda will author legislation to reduce the yearly property tax increase cap from 10% to 5%. She will be able to debate legislation on the Senate floor and work with our local State Representatives to advocate in the Texas House.  Rhonda’s opponent has had 14 years to change the course of the property tax burden on our East Texas families and has done nothing to move the needle. Rhonda will change that trajectory on Day One as your State Senator.

It’s hard to believe we have had to have President Trump declare in his second Inaugural address that our nation will only recognize two genders. Still, Rhonda is grateful for President Trump’s leadership in making it clear that there are men and women – and that’s it. Governor Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Patrick have now passed law after law keeping men out of Texas’ girls’ sports in college and high school. Now, thanks to their leadership, the Legislature has passed a law to keep men out of our girls’ and women’s locker rooms and bathrooms.  This is one of the key cultural battles of our time, and Rhonda will always lead on legislation that protects all women – our daughters, mothers, wives, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, nieces, and friends.

Rhonda will put an end to other regions of the state taking advantage of our precious natural resources, such as our water. Our water must be protected for those who rely on it here, and then we will determine how that water supply can help others.  But we cannot allow East Texans to be disenfranchised in the process and remove their access to long-term water security. Livelihoods and Texas’s food supply depend upon it.  It is egregious that incumbents have allowed this crisis to occur and have chosen not to take proactive measures.  Rhonda will broker deals and author laws that put East Texans first – always.

Insurance rates have skyrocketed, no matter the policy.  This is a tough topic to unpack. It’s complicated. But, Rhonda is ready to dig in and investigate on behalf of the district’s constituents.  If there is a way for the state to proactively advocate for curbing rising insurance rates, Rhonda is committed to finding it.

Rhonda Ward joins Governor Abbott, who aspires to make Texas the #1 state in education in the country. The passage of education savings accounts in the 2025 Regular Legislative Session has set Texas on a modern-day course to achieve that goal. Public schools and private schools can coexist in harmony, allowing parents to be the primary decision-makers in choosing the best educational path for their children. Supporting our public school teachers and parents is a must.  This is Texas, and we can do both.
